Mission Statement

"even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved."  I Corinthians 10:33

First United Methodist Church recognizes how important the middle and high school years are. They are a time of challenge, change, fun, and confusion as our youth investigate who they are in the Lord. FUMC Youth Group helps teens on that journey of self-discovery. Our youth are vibrant members of the church community.

Our youth group is open to all kids in grades 6-12. All area middle and high schools are well represented in the group, creating a natural, healthy diversity.

The FUMC youth group, under the leadership of Youth Director’s Jason Gaston and Troy Russell, is a sound, solid, Biblically based program that allows open discussion and study of the Scriptures and their relevance today.

MYF

Methodist Youth Fellowship is a time where the youth can hang out with each other and have a lot of fun together.  This is also a great time for small bible study.  Jr. High (6th, 7th and 8th grades) meet on Sundays from 4:30p.m. until 6:00p.m.  Sr. High (9th thru 12th) meet from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00.

NITRO LIVE!

This program is an outreach ministry of our church that takes place on Wednesdaynights from 6:30 until 8:00. There is a snack supper from 6:30 until 7:00.  The snack supper is followed by a short worship service with at least one song and a short devotion and the activity such as:  Basketball, Volleyball, musical chairs, Simon says, or just free timefor 20 minutes or so.

This is a perfect opportunity for youth of Cass County to get to know one another in a friendly, safe and fun atmosphere. Some come out and join us we meet onWednesdays (follow Atlanta ISD school schedule).

Sunday School

Jr. High Sunday School (6th, 7th, and 8th  grade) meets on the third floor on Sunday mornings @ 9:45.  The Class is working through a book called Faith Factor NTFaith Factor is a riveting, insightful, and practical thru-the-bible devotional for the season traveler and also the first-time explorer of God’s word.  The bible comes alive before your eyes as you experience each awesome devotion.
